Terms of Use

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and PyDex by Fuller Exotics. By accessing or using pydex.app, the PyDex mobile application, discussion services at d.pydex.app, or related features (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use PyDex for a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Provide accurate information, maintain only accounts you are authorized to use, and keep your sign-in credentials and devices secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Access to some features may depend on invitations, identity verification, account type, subscription tier, community role, or other eligibility requirements. You may not evade a suspension, ban, eligibility decision, or account restriction by using another identity or proxy account.

PyDex provides tools for animal records and lineage, catalog and taxonomy contributions, ownership workflows, listings, breeder and keeper profiles, community discussions, messaging, and related services. Features may change, become unavailable, or require additional terms.

PyDex records are informational tools. Unless we expressly say otherwise, PyDex does not independently inspect animals or guarantee identity, ownership, title, pedigree, genetics, locality, health, fertility, legality, condition, or the accuracy of user-submitted information.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant PyDex a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, transmit, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, secure, promote, and improve the Services. This license continues for public or shared records where necessary to preserve provenance, attribution, ownership history, discussions, backups, and system integrity.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit your content and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit private, confidential, infringing, unlawful, or misleading material. Mark records private when the feature is available and public sharing is not intended.

You are solely responsible for humane care, transport, breeding, sale, transfer, and possession of animals associated with your use of PyDex. Follow all applicable animal-welfare, wildlife, import, export, licensing, reporting, consumer-protection, and local laws. PyDex is not a substitute for veterinary, legal, tax, or regulatory advice.

Do not use the Services to facilitate unlawful wildlife trade, animal cruelty, prohibited species activity, fraud, or misrepresentation.

Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, PyDex is not the buyer, seller, broker, carrier, insurer, or escrow agent in a transaction between users. Users are responsible for evaluating each other, confirming animal and record details, agreeing to transaction terms, arranging lawful and humane transport, handling taxes and permits, and resolving disputes.

A PyDex ownership transfer changes the application record; it does not by itself establish legal title or satisfy any bill-of-sale, permit, registration, transport, or government-reporting requirement.

Paid plans are billed through our payment provider at the price and interval shown when you subscribe. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel future renewal through the available account or billing controls. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase.

You are responsible for applicable taxes and for keeping billing details current. We may suspend paid features when payment fails.

You may not:

• break the law or violate another person’s rights;
• submit fraudulent, deceptive, infringing, abusive, exploitative, or harmful content;
• harass others, expose private information, impersonate another person, or manipulate reputation and voting systems;
• send spam, malware, unauthorized advertising, or automated traffic that burdens or disrupts the Services;
• bypass access controls, rate limits, security measures, or feature permissions;
• scrape, harvest, or reuse personal information without a lawful basis and required permission; or
• reverse engineer or interfere with the Services except where applicable law expressly permits it.

We may investigate reports and remove, limit, label, preserve, or disclose content; restrict features; suspend or terminate accounts; or take other reasonable action to protect users, animals, PyDex, or others and to enforce these Terms. Community moderators may apply additional community rules within the permissions PyDex gives them.

We are not obligated to monitor every record, listing, message, or post, and moderation does not make PyDex responsible for user content or conduct.

The Services may rely on or link to third-party sign-in, payment, hosting, storage, maps, media, and external websites. Their terms and privacy practices govern your use of their services. PyDex is not responsible for third-party content, products, availability, or conduct.

The Services, including PyDex software, branding, design, and original content, are owned by PyDex or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Services as intended; they do not transfer ownership of the Services or our marks.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” PyDex disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, error-free data, permanent availability, or that user content and transactions are accurate, safe, lawful, or suitable.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PyDex and its owners, personnel, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, animals, opportunities, or transactions arising from the Services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PyDex’s aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid PyDex during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

You may stop using PyDex at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, nonpayment, prolonged inactivity, risk to the community, or violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including licenses needed to maintain shared records, disclaimers, liability limits, and enforcement terms—will survive.

We may update the Services and these Terms. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required by law. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Services. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.

Applicable law governs these Terms without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the Services.
